She plans to generate $5 trillion in new taxes over the next 10 years.
She wants to raise income tax rates from 37% to 44.3% on top earners.
She wants to increase the capital gains tax rate from 23.8% to 39%.
She wants to impose an “unrealized capital gains tax” on assets like your home. That means if your home increases in value, you have to pay a 25% tax on that increased value despite the fact you have not sold your home.
With the increased income tax rate along with state and local taxes, many Americans will end up paying over 60% of their income in taxes.
And for top earners who help create jobs and stimulate growth, many will be paying over 70% of their income once unrealized capital gains and payroll taxes are added in (as reported on Fox News this morning).
