Our Government Has Gotten Nearly Everything Wrong Since 9/11/2001

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the Muslim terrorist attacks on New York and the Washington, DC metro area, which brought down the Twin Towers of the World Trade

Center, destroyed several rings on the west side of the Pentagon and, due to the heroism of the passengers who brought down United Airlines Flight 93 in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, thwarted an intended attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In those twenty-two years the United States government has gotten nearly everything wrong about why we were attacked and how to prevent another even more devastating attack in the war Islamists have declared on America and the West.

The failure started almost immediately, with President George W. Bush’s declaration that “Islam is a religion of peace” which immediately began to undermine the average American’s understanding of the enemy, his motivation, and his goals.

Bush’s ahistorical (anti-historical would be a better term) remark completely ignored the plain language of Islam’s holy book, the Koran, which Muslims believe came straight from Allah to the prophet Muhammad and has never been altered or changed. Significantly, the Koran commands Muslims to “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.” (Koran 9:5)

“Islam” is more accurately translated as “submission” and good Muslims know they must submit to Allah and his Sharia (Islamic law), above all other systems of law. It is clear to anyone with a modicum of knowledge about Islam and its doctrine of Sharia supremacy that Islamists do not desire any kind of “peace” except the peace of the Ummah – the peace of the worldwide reign of Islam.

Referring to Islam, Winston Churchill wrote, “No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.”

Yet, our government purged anyone with knowledge of Islam and its military philosophy from our armed forces, the Pentagon, and the service war colleges. See Stephen Coughlin’s Catastrophic Failure: Blindfolding America in the Face of Jihad for a book length examination of the great Obama-era purge of our military’s subject matter experts on Islam.

Subsequently, our government has done its best to suppress knowledge of the 1,400 years of genocides, also known as jihads, in which Muslims wiped out Jewish tribes on the Arabian Peninsula, and slaughtered millions of Christians throughout the Middle East, North Africa and the European Continent.

American schools and universities have spent millions on the professional Islamic indoctrinators infiltrating U.S. public schools and universities even as lessons on the Judeo-Christian roots of our constitutional government have been forced out of the classroom.

“This type of infiltration amounts to an Islamic Trojan horse within our public-school systems,” our friend Richard Thompson of The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) said. “No other religion gets this kind of special treatment in our schools.”

In Afghanistan, where the attacks of September 11, 2001 were allegedly planned, our initial military success – achieved through the heroism of Mike Spann, Pat Tillman, Charles Keating III, Seal Team 6, Seal Team 10 and the troops of Operation Redwing, posthumous Medal of Honor recipients John A. Chapman, Robert James Miller, Jared C. Monti, Michael P. Murphy, and the 2,312 other Americans who gave their lives in Afghanistan – was not just undermined, but betrayed, by ignorant and arrogant politicians, thinktank geniuses, practically every Pentagon official above GS-9, and virtually every officer who achieved flag rank during the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations.

Those individuals, who were allegedly leading our wars in Afghanistan and the Middle East Theaters of Operation, clearly had no idea who they were fighting, what they were fighting and most importantly, what they were – and are – fighting for.

While the United States deployed the most lethal military in history on the battlefields of Afghanistan its political and military leadership never grasped, or even tried to understand, who the enemy is and what it would take to defeat that enemy.

Nor did they ever conceptualize what victory looked like. Instead, they opted for a Colin Powell approach to combat that emphasized developing a strategy to get out, before even thinking about how to win.

To achieve Sharia supremacy and the “peace” of the Ummah – the peace of the worldwide reign of Islam – is why we were attacked on September 11, 2001, and that is what bin Laden, al Baghdadi, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other villains of 9/11 were (and still are) fighting for.

That’s why the false deadlines Obama established for withdrawal, Trump’s negotiations, and Biden’s disastrous collapse, all failed.

And the reason for this failure had nothing to do with the bravery and selflessness of the American military personnel – it had everything to do with the unwillingness of American political level leaders to recognize what enemy we are fighting and to deploy the correct resources to defeat it.

The post-9/11 war in Afghanistan wasn’t a war on “terrorism,” it was – and is – a war between the values of fundamentalist Islam and the values of the Western Enlightenment, and if you refuse to understand it and fight it on those terms the cancer that brought about the attacks of September 11, 2001, will metastasize once more.

That means instead of sending a few thousand troops to Afghanistan we needed to deploy all the means of our national power against the real enemy – the doctrines of Islam that motivate the Taliban, ISIS, Al-Qa‘ida, Al-Shabaab, ISIS-Somalia, Hizballah, and a dozen, if not dozens of others.

We never did that over the course of the 20-years we were in Afghanistan, and now we are setting the stage for an even more devastating attack in the future.

Joe Biden has just released $6 billion to the Islamic Republic of Iran – the world’s #1 sponsor of Islamic terrorism and the epicenter of the teaching of Sharia Supremacy – and he is negotiating with them a nuclear agreement that would permit the Sharia Supremacist regime a path to an atomic bomb.

In the 22-years since September 11, 2001, while the grunts won the war on the kinetic battlefield, the real enemy – Sharia Supremacy – has never even been attacked.

Today, instead of engaging in performative TV rituals, every politician responsible and every officer staffing the Pentagon during the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations, should be on their knees, begging forgiveness from the families of those killed on September 11, 2001, and the families of those sacrificed since in their failed operations.
